Tourist travel at this period of
the year, is the heaviest for any
previous season, according to W. J.
Weaver, proprietor of the I'mnqua
Hotel. It is a surprising fact also
that 80 per cent of the travel Is
south, people from Washington.
Montana and Idaho, going Into Cal
ifornia to spend a few weeks or
months. One man, a canneryman
rrom Alaska, stopped yesterday
.ith three cars, carrying members
of the family, servants and luggage.
There are also some campers on
the road, although the majority of
those traveling now, are persons
stopping at the hotels.
Tourists from both the norlh and
the south are greatly pleased by
the winter trip, stating that It is
a more beautiful trip In winter than
In summer,. The ran over tae'ttiskl

tiful, the mountains being covered
with snow. There are no difficul
ties to be encountered, as the roads
are kept open and cleared at all
times, and in safe condition.
