of them, and escaped with a sat
chel containing $:MO0 In cash.
The robbery was committed In
front of an agency of the bank
at 38th und Yakima streets. Har
ry Schmidt, manager of the agun-
r cy, and Kay West, a bank mes
senger, were taking the cash from
the main bank to the agency. As
. the two men stepped otf a street
car the thrt't bandits drew up in
i an automobile and Btopped them,
i Schmidt was shot in the back
without warning, and the bandits
i snatched up the satchel and fled
! in their car. .
j Schmidt was taken to a hospi
tal where his condition was found

the bandits.
