county officers took the machine

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stillwell,
Oregon pioneers of 1X44, who were
married in lH.rtf where the town of
Yoncalla now stands, celebrated
their 69th wedding anniversary at
Bandon, Ore., last week.
Leaves For Bald Peak
H. O. Bowers left this morning
for his ranch at Bald Peak, where
he will spend several days pruning
his orchard. Mr. Bowers has about
160 acres on his ranch. He expects
to run sheep on part of his grazing
land this summer. He also has some
fine timber land.

Mrs. Parmalee of Portland spent
Sunday night In this city visiting
at the home of her mother, Mrs. In-
gersoll. Mrs Parmalee was Joined M
by her son, W. K. Parmalee, also of
Portland, here this morning. They
are on their way to Oakland, Cali
fornia, where they will visit with
Mrs. Parmalee's sister, Mrs. F. P.

R. L. Devaney Loses Father
F. P. Devaney, father of R. L. De
vaney, a well known resident of
Roseburg. died at Lebanon last
week, aged 96. He was the oldest
member of the Klks order In Ore
gon, affiliated with the Albany
lodge. He served In the Civil war
under General Price, and. during
his early residence In Missouri,
