wholesale coffee dealer, of Chica
go. November 28, 1923. At that
time she announced she had aban
doned her stase and motion pic
ture career and thenceforth would
devote herself to her home.
Mrs. McLuughlin has retained
her Interest in the theatre, howev
er, and attended a musical comedy
Saturday night before she entered
the hospital to greet the new ar-
rival,

They entered the armory to the
accompaniment of the barking of
hundreds of dogs; a moment Inter

aisle, looking at the dogs that were

Cynthia adored dog; she could
harilly boar to leave the wire-haired
terriers, but two minutes Inter was
lost in admiration of a genial New
foundland who had instantly taken
a liking to her.

name; the big, broad -shouldered
young man who had spoken clutched

air; his well-worn tweed clothes
were the tight kind for a man of his

huge dog beside him, he might well
attract any woman,
Jim knew his first pang of jeal
ousy. Hitherto he had accepted
Cynthia ns his wife; she wns Just
that, completely. But now he be
gan to wonder. Cynthia was a re

ed robbery at the Weir theatre last
night by a lone bandit was frust
rated and about $5,000 or the Sat
urday and Sunday receipts ot the
three Aberdeen theatres, was un
touched. The robber, however, es
caped end no trace has been found
of him late last night.
Three weeks ano the theatre
safe was robbed by bandits who
got 5,0O0 In week-end recelps.
Pike on being ordered to raise
his hands attacked the bandit and
the latter escaped after the two
fought their way down sta-rs luto
the theatre proper, the bandit tak
ing a shot at the cashier in tha
meantime.
