YREKA. Jan. 1 With the pur
chase price of $11,000 raised In
three mouths by popular subscrip
tion throughout Siskiyou county,
the title to the historic race track
and fair grounds a mile and a half
transferred this week from its own
er, Mrs. Flora A. Lewis, to the Sis
kiyou County Fair Association.
The transfer means that for the
first time in 20 years or more the
track will again be the scene of
racing. Different from Its heydey
50 years Bgo, the track will not on
ly be the scene of fast horse races,
but a secondary track, for automo
bile rncnlg only, will be constructed
around the edge of the saucer, giv
ing Sicklyou county the fastest
mile ana a quarter earth track In
i northern California
Work will begin Just at once as
soon, as the formal transfer has
been made. Suitable buildings to
replace those that are In question
able conditions will be con
structed and the buildings be
longing to the association on the
be moved to their new sites.
The track Is in prime condition,
and with a little grading and clear
ing It will be In prime shape, as at
different times It has been used by
horsemen for training purposes.

A WALL or ceiling of
Upson Board will never
crack or fall. And it can be '
finished in a hundred pleas

Just as Upson Board is being
used for every ceiling and

so also 'it is unexcelled for
covering old plaster walls
and ceilings.
But do not confuse Upson

And, unlike brittle, absorb

difficult to apply nor costly
to decorate.
