The Pacific Telephone and Tele
graph company has made a num
ber of very substantial improve
ments during the past few months,
and is pluiiiiitiK greater exten
sions and improvements for the
future. Much of the improvement
is in the way Of added service,
keeping ahead of the growth of
Koseburg and Douglas county,
particularly in the way of improv
ing long distance service between
Itcseburg and the coast.
Six hundred post's and cross
arms were placed between Camas
Valley and Jteniote on the Rose-burg-Myrtle
Point line, providing

plete new line was built, using 39
locp miles of copper wire, at a
