"The mlltenium, and the false hope
of a second chance," was the subject
1 of the lecture by Evangelist T. L.
; Theumler at the tent on North Rose
i street last night. The speaker de
clared that the doctrine of a second
chance for salvation was without
foundation in the liible. He based
i his remarks on various verses In
Revelation CO. and said that "the
; millenlum was a period of 1000 years
bound by two resurrections. One at
j the beginning, the resurrection of the
' righteous at the second coming of
; Christ: the other at the close of the
j looo years, that of the wicked."
I The evangelist said that "between
the two resurrections the 1000 year
period the righteous are in heaven
and the wicked are dead." He said,
"that the bottomless pit mentioned
in Revelation 20 was the earth In a
chatic condition, the place that Sa
tan Is cast Into by the decree of God
and the chain of circumstances, and
he abides there for a thousand years.
The righteous are all in heaven; the
wicked have not been raised; the
wicked living at the coming of the
Lord have been consumed, and Sa
tan bound by circumstances, over
which he has no control, views for a
thousand yenra the great destruction
wrought hv sin."
"At the end of the thousand
years," the speaker declared, the
wicked will be raised from the dead."
Then the chain of circumstances that
bound Satan would be loosed, and as
men lived again on earth he would
go out and again begin the work of
deception." The evangelist read from
Rev. 20. how Satan would so control
the hosts of the wicked under his
power of deception "lhat thev will
think themselves able to lay siege to
the city of C,cI. and at that time fire
would come down from God out of
heaven and the wicked would be con
sumed." The speaker referred to the
prophecy of Peter pointing to this
same time. 2 Pet. 3:13.
Kvangelist Thuemler alleged that
the "matter of a second probation Is
a false hope, lulling men to sleep in
carnal security at the very time
when eternal Issues are at stake in
their own experiences, and that 'now
Is the accepted time; now Ih the day
of salvation." Urging his hearers to
make that preparation of heart nnd
life that would fit them to stand with
God and the saved when Jesus
comes."
The subject tonluht Is ' The Home
of the saved - Where is it nnd What
Is It." Mrs. Wood will sin;; at this
service.
ARE YOU OUT OF DEBT?
Man was created to have do-
minion over the earth, but It
seems that the old world has
i possession of man making slaves
; of those who ought to be mus-
ters. It will not always be so.
Hear Kvangelist Thuemler to-
. night at the tent on North Rose
! St., between Oak and Washing-
, ton, in his descriptive lecture,
"The Home of the Saved."
