death:
The unexpected death of Mrs. W. A.
Simmons last Wednesday evening, in
thia city, caused general sadness In
this community, where the lady had
resineii since tlie project first started.
There was noun of the family nt
home at the time. Mr. Simmons left
that afternoon for Lake Tahoo on
business connected with his official
duties, hut was delayed and did not
reach the dam al the outlet of the
lake until s o'clock the next morn
ing, when ho learned the sad news.
Her son. lilrnn. left home at 4 o'clock
In the evening to work on the night
shift at the government dredge and
did not return until midnight. When
Mr. Simmons and Clean left home
Miss Ruth Durgan, who has been
the house guest of her aunt, Mrs.
Tom Wharton, for the past ten days,
returned to her home In Eugene the
latter part of this week.

and Mm. R B. Irwin of Wilbur, under

terday at the Mercy Hospital. Dr.
