"Jamie" Heron'a burred Scotch
tongue last night gave a large Chau
tauqua audience an Inspiration and
a good time. From his first appear
ance on the stage, full of pep and
enthusiasm, the audience was kept
laughing or drinking In some seri
ous thought offered to uplift the
social and business plane to a higher
but common level.
Hla lecture was devoted to the
subject of "Building Better Busi
ness, by Bulld'ns Better Men ' and
he developed the topic by showing
that better men and better business
can be brought about only by an
unselfish service on the part of the
individual. Cliques and classes do
not promote better men, while on
the other hand the mingling of men
upon cummou gruunu will pruvu an
uplift to all. Individual betterment
must be accompanied by community
betterment, bis audience was told.
During his lecture he frequently
dropped in .thoughts expressed In
poetry of his own composition and
his smooth running talk coupled
with the music of the poetry gave
the audience a most delightful even
ing. . .
His lecture was prefaced by ' a
short program by Princess To Aw
and her company, who presented
Indian songs, dances and legends. , .

no Chautauqua next year. The task
of finding persons willing to sign
the contract Is progressing very
ilowly and the present outlook is
that there will not be enough to
guarantee a return next year. :
The principal reason for this con
dition la the fact that the ticket
price for next year has been In
creased from 2.50 to $3.00 for the
adult ticket. Tho management is
aeking approximately $2.10 more for
next year than this year, aitnougn
the number of tickets to be sold is
less. Next year there will be no
Sunday programs, the sessions cover

The management makes one lib

At the present time season tickets
