A meeting was held in the city hall
today for tiie purpose of preparing a
uniform plan for tiie control uud op
eration of the auto tourist camp
grounds now being established by
practically every city in thu state.
The meeting was called recently by
I tiie Itoseburg city council and dele
' gates were present from eight of the
larger cities of the state. The cities
represented were l'oriland, Salem.
Ashland. .Me. Iron, Albany, Grants
j I'ass, Oregon City and Itoseburg.

order by Dr. A. C. Seeiy, w ho explain
ed the purpose of the gathering. S.
C. Tier, park commissioner of Fort
land was elected permanent chairman

related experiences In handling parks

charge for the iu:e of the
auto parks. Mr. Harrett based his op
position on the belief that a charge;
would work a hardsliln on the tourist:

with the camp ground were given
consideration . At a lain hour this
afternoon the committee was still in
session.

first of these contests was held last
year and was very successful and
this year even more Interest Is
