Prices are! "downbuy now!
In some lines they may go a little; lower, but in many others they
will go higher. Therefore, today : is the time to buy.
If some period of low prices in the past is arbitrarily set as "normal," prices never will get back
to "normal." Prices are as low as they would be if normal development had not been inter
rupted by the war.
We, the undersigned, are today making every possible effort to bring prices down.
In the first place we have cut the profits to the bone profits that are smaller than they have been
in years and years.
In the second place we have created a buyers' market instead of a sellers' market. That means
many a wholesaler must meet us on our terms terms that save you thousands of dollars.
But there are certain obstacles that we cannot overcome. Freight rates continue high; cost of
production is more than it was six years ago and rents in many cases have doubled. When these matters are adjusted we
will continue our policy of cutting costs to you.
In the meantime maintain that faith and confidence you have had in us during past years. Rest
assured that we arc making every possible effort to give you the maximum for the minimum.
