of Ray Marsters, underwent a serious
operation at the Mercy hospital this
morning. Dr. Sether was in attendance.

price levels, with sheep in good
demand but lower prices pre-
railing. Lambs from east of
the mountains are bringing only
seven to eight cents. Butter is

daughter, Miss Mary Reams, left this
morning for California, Tennessee,
Mississippi- and other points, where
they will make an extended sojourn.
They will return to this city the lat
ter part of January. Mr. Hamburg

Archdeacon Chambers and Father
Rice, of the Episcopal church, will
arrive In Roseburg tonight from
Portland and will hold a meeting at
the Episcopal church this evening at
7:30. Archdeacon. Chambers and
Father Rice are visiting all the Epis
copal churches In Oregon to arouse
new Interest in the three year nation
wide campaign of the church, which
wa begun a year ago.
' The funeral services of Edwin
Earl Thornton, two year old son of
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Thornton of
this city, were held this afternoon
at two o'clock at the Roseburg Un
dertaking parlors. Rev. J. H. Dick
son of the Baptist church conducted
the service, and Interment followed
In the Masonle cemetery. Many
sorrowing friends and relative of
the bereaved parents were present
and there was a profusion or Deau
tlful floral oferlngs.

will hold a sale of fancy articles and
