A structure 80x50 feel was proposed, at an approximate cost of $1500, la be raised by a two mill tax. Thl shed Is very badly needed, and al though It was defeated, 4D to 39, w have not lost all hope for the fu ture. However, In the meantime we are forced to give UP our hope of a basketball team. Thla we regri very much. We will need to fall back on soc cer football at the only winter spott. The soccer football team has elected James Rice captain, and Dell Wood minneer. The school campus was unlit for football on account of the slick condition of the new; ior mis season goals have been sot up In the field across the road. Tne nrst game wna nlaved with the Riddle team on November 19. Neither team had ever played a match game before tins, mill there was a large crowd and much excitement and "rooting." The score was 3 to 1 in favor of Riddle., On Thanksgiving day a second game was played betweeu the same teams. We sold tickets before this game at 26 cents, and Ji5.25 was raised between the two schools and divided event ly. Mr. Harkneas, ot Olendale, refereed the game. The Myrtle Creek team was deteated again by a score of 1 to 0. Their work, however, cannot be Judged by this. Inasmuch as they were out weighed by the Riddle team on an average of 10 to IS pounds to the man. Next Saturday at 2: SO p. m. we expect to play our first game with Roseburg at that city. The student body has organised with Agnes Knight as president, Lona Anlauf vice-president, Lois Dalley secretary, and James Rice treasurer.-' A constilution . will be adopted this week. This year for the first time the student body Is planning to put out an annual of 100 pages, with appro priate cuts.- The approximate cost will be S500, and the students and teachers are both striving to earn the required amount.
