HOW SHALL WOMKX VOTK?
Women are being urged to enter
politics, to Join onu puny or the

open to conviction and who would
like to vote for the best mun. irre

and disgusted, for It would Beeiu
there are no good men in polli.cu,
and that the two great political par
ties are rotten to the core.
Very few women, I think, want to
see the country in the hunda of so
cialists. Voting for the prohibition
candidate would be throwing away
a vote and why Bhotild a woman
leave the comforts of her home on
election day tot cant a vote that she
knows perfectly well would be worth
less? From the time I used to scrap wttli

the relative merits of Hayes and Til

never known a presidential cam
paign carried on wth the siuonm of
virulence, haired and low. vulvar
abuse as has this one been. In it any
wonder foreign nations look down
on us?
Recently I was asked by a for
eigner If it were true that one of our
candidates was a brewer and a di
vorced man, and the other a friend
of the saloon men, and the h unburn!
of a divorced woman. TIHb foreigner
had been so informed by different
Americans while making an extend
ed trip across our country. I could
only answer, "I don t know. from
the greut litter of lies concerning the
two parlies and their candidates,
who can pick out the tiny grain of
truth? Or. if all the things we hear
fn regard to the matter are i run.
then what In the nation coming to.
that it should choose such wicked
men to fill the highest office in the
land or for thai matter, in th
world? On the other hand, if they
are untrue, then we are a nation of
liars and mud-slingers.
Perhaps the entrance of women
into politics may help to purify Un
political methods now in ue by the
old parties. Let us hope so, for I.
and doubtless unnumbered others,
are sick of these methods.
