Reveals Lost Body

ter two years of persltttent search of
world war buttliuelds and cemeteries
In France, the body of Sergeant II
lluni CottliiKham, on of Mr. and
Mra. William Cotilnghain of thin
city, lias been found In the Homagne
cemetery by Mrs. J. K. Wright, of
New York.

missing In action at Atllgny. October
IS, 191 M. to which pluce he had been
sent with Company F, 2nd engineers
to construct bridges over the Alsne
river and Ardennes canal. Availuble
government records contained no In
formation other than that he was
missing. Mrs. Wright, a friend of
the family, decided to conduct a per
annul Investigation and went to
France.
It was after Mrs. Wright had
visited most of the battlefields anil
war cemeteries that she obtained in
formation about the missing man.
She learned from the French gov
ernment that the body of an Ameri
can soldier had been left on the bank
of the Alsne river and had been
burled by the Hermans, Latnr It was
removed to the Komagne cemetery.
Mrs. Wright went there and by
leans of the grave marker deter
mined that the body was that of Ser
geant Cottlngham.

owner. Frank B. Cameron, whose
home Is in the building. The bomb
was placed in the basement of the
lice office some time Sunday night.
Editor Cameron found it next morn
ing. Examination of the bomb by police
of this city disclosed that the fuse,
which had been run through the tin
top, had been slightly squeezed to
gether and It Is this that Is credited
for the failure of the fuse to con
tinue burning.
