Cattle Plague
Precautions Taken
PARIS, France, Sept. 8 To pre
vent a repetition of the cuttle plaguo
which after the war of 1870 killed
hundreds of thousands of cattle in
France, the authorities are taking
special precautions. The plague has
broken out In Belgium near the
French frontier and the Importation

Kelly Lumber company at one of the '
logging camps above Wendling, was
killed late yesterday afternoon while
at work In the timber.
He was working near a log that
was being pulled by a cable when
the log suddenly turned, striking him
on the head, crushing his skull. He
lived three hours after the accident.
