Potatoes Are A
Luxury in Manilla
MANILA, July 20. Potatoes
have become a luxury in Manila.
For a month paat the Buppty baa
been dwindling until a week ago
when it waa virtually exhausted.
Price have gone to ten centa per
pound for the few remaining in the
city. Guests at hotels and board
lug houses have been served rice as
a substitute. A shin load ol pota
toes is duo and It is expected that
the shortage will soon be relieved
and the price drop back to about
