Owing to tho fact that the Chau
tauqua is here on Sunday evening,'
the ministers who are working with
the Chautauqua were anxious to ar
range a religious service for the eve
ning and yet not to conflict with the
Chautauqua program. They got in
touch with tho yutney Boy a ono
nis, pne of the most remarkable or
ganizations of the northwest. These
hoys are from Seattle and are, on
their way to San Francisco. The?
will give a concert ot sarreu music
on Sunday evening at the Chautau
qua tent, beginning at about 6.15.
This concert is entirely free to the
nubile but a Ifree will ortenng win
be tiken to help defray the expenses
of these bovs. There are about 4 a
of these fellows, ranging from 10 to
17 years, and there sre some real
musicians amongst them. This cho
rus has had a remarkable growth
and experience. There are more than
1000 boys who belong to It, and those
coming here are a ptrhed company.
Four times these boys have been
honored bv president Wilson, and nt
the San Francisco exposition were
presented bv the management with
a benutiful flag. At the concert here
on Sunday evening the specialties
will Include a boy soprano, a boy
orator, bov eornelist, boy pianist, a
bov bass, boy tenor, and a boy clari
netist. Tho public 'is welcome. This
concert is not a part of the Chatnu-
qua program, but by courtesy of trie
manager the churches are allowed
ti use the tent for the concert, which
will clone in time for tho regular
Chntauqua program. The public is
welcome.

SALEM. Ore.. July 16 The mem
bers of the Marshfield delegation of
Elk's, coming In a train of six spec
ial coacues, are going to be strong
contenders for the next annual ses
sion of the Elks of Oregon when the
question comes to a vote at the .iru
annual convention In this city July
22,-23, and 24.
The antlered brethren of three
other cities have also announced
their Intentions of chartering a spec
ial train for the gathering, and it
is expected that the eastern Oregon
contingent will have at least one,
and possibly two specials.
Roseburg and Astoria are both
sending delegations too large to bo
accommodated on the regular pass
enger trains.
Aside Ifrom the Portland delega
tion, which w-lll consist of 1500 Elks
headed by a 45 piece band, the Mc
Mlnnville lodge promises to be among
those having the largest representa
tions. They will muinta'ln special
headquarters here during the convention.
