are dumping them on the market,

The best advice that can be given
to the owner of a Liberty bond is
this: Hold the bond you bought dur
ing the war; It Is as safe and sound
as the united States government it
self. Buy as many more at the present
low rate as you can afford. If you
hold them to maturity you are boun l
to make the difference between what
they sell at now and their face
value. You will also receive good
interest on your Investment.
Hold on to your Liberty bonds and
buy more.

petitioned the district court here to
allow him to change his appellation
and selected Lewis Moore as his

Cotton Brings
High Price

LUBBUCK, Texas. May 21 A
bale of long staple cotton grown on
Irrigated land at the state experi
ment farm here sold at 85 cents a
pound.
The superintendent of the farm
says the cotton was a portion of the
crop raised on a one and a half acre
tract which averaged a bale to the
acre. The tract was Irrigated In the
early spring before planting time
and again from time to time after
the plant began to materialize.

The United States government bor
rowed money from you to finance the
war. You hold the government's
promise to pay you back. This prom
ise is called a Liberty bond or Vic
tory note. On this bond Is stated
the conditions under which the gov
ernment borrowed the money from
you, says the government bulletin
published to encourage people to
hold their bonds.
For instance: If you hold a bond
of the third Liberty loan, It states
that on April 16 and October 15 of
each year until maturity, you will
receive interest on the amount you
paid for the bond. Other Issues bear
other rates of Interest and other ma
turity dates, all of which are clearly
stated on the bond.

Tent Villages To
Beat High Rents
ST. LOUIS, Mo., May 20. High
rents and scarcity of houses have
caused "tent villages" to spring up
in the vicinity of SW Louis. The
tent dwellers generally report they
have stored their furniture and In
tend to camp out until cold weather
sets in.
Several industrial concerns that
are enlarging their plants, it is said
will set up tent colonies for em
ployes they bring here from other
cities, until homes are erected for
them. A housing corporation bai

homes.

The patients are particularly fond
of band music, especially that ren
dered by the patients' bands.
At the weekly nances, jazz music
is played for hours.
