C. HAKDIN'i. IT- PIONEER MINISTER IS CALLED HENCE AT THE RIPE AGE Of 90 YEARS Itev. P. A. Moses, a resident of Myrtle Creek about 3U years ago, died ut his home at Corvallis last Monday, being past HO years of age. He was widely known throughout the stale as a minister of the SI. K. church, South. He was a native of Virginia, his ancestors coming from Holland in 1 7 4 1. In an obituary sketch the Corvallis Times says: Father Moses passed away on the sixty-first anniversary of his mar riage, had been in the ministry sixty eicht years, was the oldest alumnus of liandolph-Macon College of Vir ginia, and iie had been a Mason sixty-one years. He had been grad ually failing since an attack of pneu monia about a year ago. He recov ered, apparently, from the difficulty last spring, but so much of hiv strength was lawen that he fell into a decline, and finally drifted thru the door into thai heaven he had al vva.v s delighted to hold before t ho world as t he sure reward for all those who fought the good fight tri umphantly. And if any man on earth ever fought triumphantly. It was Father Moses. He had no evil in his heart, none on his tongue, he was filled with love, kindness and charily, (lie good will that worketli no ill, and lie delighted in good works, good cheer, and lie went about doing his Master's will. In his later years at least, ho was as a dove, and a benediction to all n lie wended his way down the stream of life. The unfortunate man, who was a passen ger aboard train No. la last evening, t raveling from his home to Sa n Diego, Cal.. became suddenly ill as the I rain was pull ing out of Win chester. The aged man arose from his seat, presumably in an effort to gain the car platform, and dropped in the aisle. Helping hands quickly placed the dying man back in his seal and he expired a moment later i without regaining consciousness. Coroner M. K. Killer was notified and the body was removed from ihe train here. A search of ihe dead man's effects for ihe purpore of find ing his ident ity disclosed a bank ; book on which was written the name i of James Harkens.
