The ses sions will be held at the Presbyterian Church atid many delegates from ail parts of the county, as well as promi nent visitors from outside, are ex ported to be in attendance. An interesting program has been prepared for each day, and several numbers of special interest are planned for the opening sessions to morrow night and Saturday. The full program will be published later. Anions the visitors will be the state un sident. Miss Kdna Whipple. , of Kugene; past state president, Mrs. Kver-'tt linker, of Portland, and several others of etjual notoriety. Some of the best local talent in the city will furnish music and enter tainment features. A reception for the purpose of getting acquainted is planned as the event of chief im portance tomorrow. In brief the main points in the lony opinion given the court are as follows: Kirt. The entire act. both as to the tax and to the fund is unconsti tutional. Second. The law is well prttb-d in On-iron that a void or illegal tax. if voluntar ily paid, cannot be recovered by a taxpayer. The ! men had said their goodbyes at i homes around San Prancisco Pay early yesterday and many had still i the recollect ton of the moments ot I parting. Por the most part, the men 1 were somewhat quieter than the j troops that passed through here pre t vicusly and all maintained an or ! deriy conduct throughout their brief d lay in this city. ! The actions of Floyd Itamp. a local Socialist, as performed by him throughout a rather sensational af fair with the local officers a week aK" w reviewed for a second time before City Recorder Whipple todav, in his second trial for resist inn an officer, w hich began at f : :J0 o'clock in the city hall. The same case with few exceptions was made nut by both parties as dur ing the former trial, when (he jury disagreed, and interest from the standpoint of the spectators was con siderably diminished. Probably the greatest interest in the case was caused by the select ion of a jury. The reserve list was exhausted this morning and a new list was started, the case not getting under way until nearly noon. The jury as it fially stood was composed of PI hut lc Kean. W. J. W. H. Katou. The latter in to resign his pastorate here on December 1, uccording to his present plans, and ho will probably immediately locate in some new field. , The committee appointed last evening is composed of W. Several names have al ready been submitted to various members of the congregation and these will be turned over to the committee at once. So far no defi nite action has been taken.
