coal, steel, oil, petruleum products,

ties. The committee amendment to
the bill excluding from control of

sumption, agreed to release the
farmer from all regulations under
the bill covering the power to requi
sition products.

hill should be limited, only to distri

The prohibition' situation in the
Senate is endangering the entire
legislative program. The Lever food

Many experiences wore related,
from humorous to pathetic.
Many spoke of he remarkable upon-
anelty uf the responses to their ap
peals for this great humanitarian
cause. 11 was termed a wonderful
week or education, both for the
workers and those who were culled
upon to give. The belief was also
widely expressed that should unuther
cull of this nature be made some
months lience that the response will
lie eveu more prompt and generous.
All were greatly surprised, however.
when the treasurer, Mr. Whartou,
announced that tlie total for tlie
county would approximate $l6,Uliu,
about half In cash and hulr in
pledges. Chairman Ilooth announced
Ihe appointment of A. It. Hulherlund,
J. M. Throne and Miss Albright as
an auditing committee to check over
the lists of contributions and re
ceipts Issued. As soon as their work
can be completed Hie entire fund will
be sent to A. I.. Mills, of Portland,
the state chairman for the Red
Cross fund, without any deductions
of any kind for expenses. The com
mittees all gave their time and their
Hurts absolutely free, paid their
own expenses during the week and
besides this each contributed liberal

humanllartan cause.
A rising vote or thanks was ten
dered to Mr lloo h ror his great
kindness and consideration In pro
viding this banquet and affording

ol experiences among the workers.
