will extend practically the entire
distance from Canyonviile to Tiller,
and will be paid for out of the funds
of the several road districts located

John Howell, a pioneer of 18 5$,
died at his home at Crants Fass on
Juhe 3, at the ape of nemly 82 years.
His aged wile and eight sons and
daughters survive him. Our fellow
townsman, J. fL Howell, Is one f
his sons. Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Howell
were at his bedside when I he end
came. Slowly i.nd surely the ranks
of our grand old pioneers are thin
ning, and while there is one who lin
gers, we nil should strive in every
way to f-how our appreciation of the
magnificent bequest they have left
to posterity. All honor to our noble
pioneers.
Measles are plentiful in this city

pletely refused to try to check Ihe
epidemic, is an unsolved problem.
