IJuite to the contrary, many more applicants nre desired. The War De partment order simply means that for the present. Instead of being com missioned, these applicants who pas the necessary examinations will he recommended for the Keserve Otfi cers' training camp, to bo bold for t hreo mon His a I t he Presidio, San Francisco, Cat., beginning May 8. NEW GAMES Will BE INIRODfCED AT LOCAL The small balls for playing duck pins, nine pins, Jonah, cocked hat, four buck, five back and many other games, have arrived at the I'mpuun Club alleys and great Interest is be-i ing taken by a large number of de votees of the small ball games. Many of the older class of bowlers are more familiar with these games than with the present game of ten pins, and can now indulge in this most healthful of all indoor sports bowling. The small ball games are also being participated in by many of the ladles, who find It easier to roll the smaller halls than the regulation bowling balls. 0 Friday night marked the opening' or a big ragtime howling-tournament at the club alleys. As a large num ber of good bowlers have developed since the opening of the alleys, a very close and exciting race is an ticipated.
