of operating without, a license. He
will probably plead in the recorder's

A letter from H. A. Hinshaw,
freight agent for the Southern Pa
cific Company, stated that lie would
he glad to assist the people here in
establishing a cannery at any time.
To encourage the enterprise. Mr.
Hinshaw said the Southern Pacific
Company would give the local. plant
a rate of 2U cents a hundred pounds

time friends and were residents of

At the regular meeting of the Yeo
men lodge, held at the Maccabee
hall last evening, it was practically
decided that the local chapter will
entertain a large delegation from
Kugene, who will be here to attend
the Slrawherry Carnival. A full re
port is to be made at the next meet
ing, when information will he sub
mitted as to accommodations and
entertainment. The lodge also ini
tiated five new members and enjoyed
a social session during which all
were served with refreshments.
The lleuson school will hold a
home-cooked food sale, Saturday.
