The Harden Valley Fruit Associa
tion is making preparat ions to
manufacture u large uautity of Unit
and sulphur spray for use by the
fruit growers belonging to that as
sociation. A large number of empty
barrels were hauled out to Harden
Valley on Tuesday afternoon by I).
T. Sleep and !t. S. llutiou. They
state that I lie members of the asso
cia) ion will save from $2 to $ii a
barrel by manufacturing the spray
themselves. There are about UOno
acres of orchards In Harden Valley
which will come into full hearing In
the near future, and this valley is

prise party. The evening was spent
in playing games, after which light

Saves Eggs
Royal Baking Powder makes it possible to pro
duce appetizing and wholesome cakes, muffins,
cornbread, etc., with fewer eggs than are usually

In many recipes the number of eggs may be re
duced and excellent results obtained by adding
an additional quantity of Royal Baking Powder,
about a teaspoon, for each egg omitted. The
following tested recipe is a practical illustration:
1 cup ugar
cup water
3 etgi
2 teaspoon Royul Halting Powder
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
H cup cold water
1 ten spoon flavoring
SPONGE CAKE
DIRECTIONS: Boll sugar end water
" until syrup spins a thread and add to tha
tUffly beaten whites of orcs, beating until
the mixture is cold. Sut together three
limes trie nour, suit ana oaking powder;
beat yolks of cues until thick; add a little
at a time flour mixture and egg yolks
alternately to white of egg mixture, tir
ring after each addition. Add h cup cold
water and flavoring. Mix lightly and
pake in moderate oven one hour.
The old method called for 6 eggs
and no baking powder
