Among the places mentioned for eliminating the lielivv grades are at the Hoover hill, on t lie Olalla road; the Myrlle Creek hill, al Ihc town of Myrlle Creek; the hills adjacent lo and .lust north of Oakland, and the several abrupt knobs along llie Oak Creek road. The Huberts hill road should also be reduced lo a six per cent grade, as that place has been the scene ol numerous accidents, some being of a serious nature. As we havo re marked before, there Is no use to temporize with a hill. It Ik always going lo remain where It Is, so the only thing to do is to place the roads where they ought to be, cutting out tho heavy grades. Considerable work In this line has been done In thin county ilmlng the past rive years, but a large amount still Remains to be done. Almost every road district in the county can very profitably give attention to Ibis mailer of elim inating heavy grades. Work along this line should be given a large shari- of altentlon Ibis year.
