BEETS ARE INSPECTED.
F. S. ltramwell, held superinten
dent for lhe su;:ar factory, was in
Glendale Thursday, accompanied by
K. Miyojiiichi, who has churce of all
the Jap laborers in the beet fields,
says the Glendale News. Mr. Rram
well inspected the beet Holds up Cow
Creek and rejorts that they are
looking fine. He says that the beets
have the best bottoms for this early
in the season of any field he has seen
in 15 years.

GLENDALE BOY HURT.
loren Stevens, the little stepson
of V. H. Dyer, was brought to the
Sanitorium Wednesday from Myrtle
('reek by Mrs. lyer for treatment,
says the Glendale News. On July 4th
,the boy jumped from a porch and in
jured his leg. but at the time it was
not thought to be broken. Ir. Knott
examined the limb with his X ray
machine and found that the bones
above the knee were broken and the
ends pushed their way past each
other. The doctor made a fresh
break and set the bones nnd the boy
seems to be getting along nirely. Mr.
Iyer is employed at the Lystui mill.

for Los Angeles to visit his parents.
He will be away for about two weeks,

Clendale News. Mr. Jordan says
