In reporting upon the petition for and against the proposed pave ment of Hamilton street, In Walte'i Addition, for a distance of about two blocks, .the street committee said they bail disagreed. Mr Sham brook stood for paving, while he w as opposed by Hamilton and Powell, it was then moved by the council to take no nrtion. Shortly a ft erw arils L. It. Moore arrived be fore tlie council and presented a new petition asking for the paving only as far as Ihe south ilne of the Rose school properly. Mr. Moore had the signatures of the school board as well as his own, giving a majority of the frontage in favor of the Im provement. This petition differed from the former nne In that It asked for pavement for less than a block, ant) extended only along the school grounds. Mr. Moore suld he could get to his property in the winter time only by such Improvement. The same remonstrators presented their objections, however, these being Miss LlaiHhc Reed, L. L. Hell and H.
