The game was one of the best ever played in Uoseburg, as was attested by the frequent ap plause of the crowd that thronged the grandstand. Medley, of Oakland, who occupied (he mound for the locals, pitched ex cellent hall and succeeded in fanning t:l visitors. Medley has a number of wicked twisters which kept the visitors guessing throughout the ex hibition. Only once or twice during Ithe entire game did the outside ag- ;;reg:ition succeed in getting the ball ;out of the in-field. Medley not only bus plenty of speed, but lias a head which enables him to hold the un divided support of his associates. The support given Medley was good and fully evinced lhe strength of the lo cal team when placed in uneonifori able quarters. Two or three times the visitors sncreeded In gelling men on the bases, but as often thev "died before reaching the home plate.
