. Prayer meeting was attended
about as well as usual, but we would
like to see more faces present. We

There were quite a number of
persons at the M. B. Club Thursday
evening. They met at Mrs. Carnes."
It was reported a fine meeting 13
being present. They are to meet at
Mrs. French's next meeting day,
which is July 2.
We had' quite a crowd at the
Christian Endeavor meeting last
Sunday night, Luessla Johnson being
the leader. Mrs. F. H. Wilson is to
be leader next Sunday night. Every
one come and help her out.
Mrs. F. R. Wilson and Mrs. C. W.
Groves are going to town twice a
week. We understand they are go
ing to the doctor, Mrs. Groves taking
her little son.
We had a fine time at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Osmun Shaffer last
night, June 18. It was to be a sur
prise on Mrs. Shaffer, it being her
birthday, but Mr. Shaffer had to tell
her. We will get it on him one of
these days if he don't keep his eyes
and ears open.

Kelso Whittington had an accident
last Wednesday morning. His horses
ran away while hitched to a mowing
machine. The team was a young
one, and they were afraid of the ma
chine, being the first time they were
ever hitched to one. Both horseB
and machine also escaped unharmed
Calvin Whittington is still work
ing In Happy Valley. We hope he
will return home soon.
Mr. and Mrs. Bowman, of Myrtle
Creek, spent Wednesday night at the
