W. E. Fergeson and family, accom
panied by Mlus Young, are visiting
Mr. Lampman and family, who reside
near Ada. Mr. Fergeson is a promi
nent attorney of Fresno, Cnl., who is
spending his vacation In Oregon.
Considerable work Is being done
near tunnel "6" preparing right of
way, building roads to get timber to
the tunnel, etc.. Four teams will be
put at work hauling timber. About

car and will bring it into Gardiner

The wharf at the Gardiner Mill
has a busy appearance this week
with three schooners at tho wharf
ready to load lumber. There does
not appenr to be enough lumber on
hand to load them, therefore the mill
is running a ten hour shift in place
of eight hours.

largely Interested In timber on this
coast and in tho Northeast, was in
Gardiner this week looking over
some timber holdings or Krlbs with
a view of buying the same. Mr. Loud
mot an old acquaintance in Gardiner
in the person of Mr. Ambrose
Koucho, who was raised In the same
town with him. Mr. Loud left on
