Riddle's annual city election held
last Tuesday passed off very quietly,
with but little interest manifested
Seventy-five votes were cast, with
the following result:
V. II. Hartley, Mayor.
Dr. V. F. Kaiser, Dr. C. H. Lash
and Freelfu Cornutt, councilmen for
two-year term. However, Mr. Cor
nutt cannot qualify for the reason
that he Is not a taxpayer, and C. E.
Logsdon, who received the next high
est vote, will serve In this office.

spent a few days on Smith Itlver last
week visiting with relatives.
C. E. Kicker started for Gardinor
last Friday in his new "Perfection"

proved too strong for the small boat,

was obliged to put tho engine In tho
bout and pull the oars. But ho didn't
give up until he reached his destina
