The body of Mrs. Gile, ac companied by Mr. Gile, Is due to ar rive In Portland this evening on its return journey from France. Rev. H. E. Murshall, who will conduct the services, left Salem this morning at 1 1 o'clock for Portland to meet Mr. Gile and confer with him. Although no definite announcements can be made at present, It Is expected that the body will arrive here tomorrow afternoon. . As soon as the wishes of Mr. Gile are ascertained the under takers will be advised by wire. Mr. Gile left this city several months ago with the ostensible In tention of attending a business meet ing In New York City, but surprised his friends by marrying. The couple went to Europe on their honeymoon and visited several of the large watering places of the continent. Hut the wedding trip was cut short on April 9 by the death of the bride. May 1st. proved a great success. The three different schools were represented. A program was rendered by the pupils from the dllferent schools, also music by the baud. Interesting talks were given by Rev. W. II. Eaton, Sttpt. O. ('. Drown and our teacher, Wilfred Brown. After a bounteous repast at the noon hour the crowd proceeded to the Dixon grove, where the Dlxon ville baseball nine played ball with the Benson school boys, the Dlxon ville nine being defeated. The day was greatly enjoyed and will long be remembered by all who were present. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Christcnson, of Winston, visited Saturday and Sun day with the families of E. W. Main itud M. M. ltrumbach. Mr. and Mrs. Will Ilatrield visited at the homo of Mr. and Mis. Roy Hatfield on South Deer Creek last Saturday. MrB.
