SOME OREGON FOREST BOUXDAIUE8 READJUSTED. Ad executive order Juit promul gated has resulted In an elimination of latidB from National forest areas In Oregon. Tills readjustment of boundaries has resulted In a total reduction of gross areas on the Paul- Ina and Deschutes National forests of about 400,01)0 acres. The lands eliminated are located In the cast- central part of the state, a consider - able portion being on pumice lanua of low fertility and Utile vulue for present or future forest purposes. A portion is located near the Deschutes ,.r..ni... i riv,.i,. i,u u i. h ii cludeB two towns. These ellmlna- tlons are a part of the work of boundary examinations Initiated five or six years ago, which Is resulting in fixing, after careful survey, the uefl- nite boundaries or inoso iuuub wnicn should remain permanently In for ests. The present eliminations are made because the laud Is not required for forest purposes or for the protection of watersheds.
