Leweli'eu passed peacefully away, at his home on Sou 111 Pine street, ltoaeburg, Or., at 11 o'clock p. m., March 29, 1!)H. Mr. Lcwelleu was bom January S, 1864, at Chico, Cali fornia. Early in life he came to Ore gon and resided In this state till his death. He waa married July 14th, lS'JO. to .Miss Mary Eunice Noah, of Doer Creek. To this union three children were horn, Elma, Arlie and Sylma, all of whom survive him. Mr. Leweilen professed faith In Christ a few years ago, and united with the M. E. Church, South. He was also a momber of the Woodmen of the World. During his illness, all that medical aid and loving hands could do was done for his comfort. Mr. Leweilen was an industrious, kind hearted citizen, and after his many yoars residence In our city he will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the undertaking parlors, Rev. Eaton conducting the services. Interment in Odd Fellows cemetery. 1000 FORDS l'ER DAY. DETROIT, Mich., March 30. Mr. Booth has the sympathy of the Albany Democrat. He will run against one of the best United States Sena tors ever sent to Washington from he state of Oregon. He will put on the political gloves with one of the nost popular men in the state. Senator Chamberlain has made ;ood nt the National capital. He is stronger today than he wnB six years ago. and will grow stronger as the campaign progresses. Chamberlain has fought the fight if the plain people He has kept the tilth. He has entered into no part- lershlp with corrupt politics or big business. He has at all times put he interests of the masses above the interests of the classes. He has con listently supported Woodrow Wilson n his demand for a reform in the ariff and currency. In a word, he has performed his plain duty. The eople of Oregon are therefore in no mood to experiment with a new ind untried man in the halls of Con gress. Albany Democrat.
