On appear ing at the idly jail this morning, she I xv as unable to identify the trio and they were released. W. A. Kggliniiner, of Rice Creek, complained to Sheriff Quiuo about a week ago that horse thieves had visited his place and taken one of his best horses. The Sheriff took the usual precautions to locate any such criminals, although ho contended at Die lime there were no horse thieves in the county. The horso was hobbled and the Sheriff maintained it would bo found somewhere, prob ably fast in the brush. He received wind this morning lhat it had been found where it had been fast for sev eral iluvs and was. almost starved to death. A handkerchief shoxver was given yesterday afternoon by Mrs. M. M. Miller at her homo on East Cass street, in honor of Miss Hessie Kid der, whoso marriage is an event of the near fut tire.
