News that an Kngllshman, Andrew Pooley, agent In .lapan for Renters News Agency, had been arrested at Tokio in connection with a Japanese navy scandal, and I fiat his wife attempted suicide, ar rived here by mall, the censor having prevented sending the account by cable. The letter was taken to Shang hai for mailing. Pooley is charged with selling documents bearing on the graft scandal to the offenders for $ 1 2 r.uoii. The alleged transaction was the subject of a bitter debate in Parliament, though those accounts were also censored. While Pooley lu prison the police ransacked his house.
