DIES AT BROWNSVILLE.

Oliver Perry Cos how. who had lived
here almost ocntlnuously since the
Fail of ls;i, died January 21. He
was born at ronnersville. Did . July
I, 18.11. and was a ajreat grandson of
one of La Fayette's French soldiers.
At the age of 19 Oliver Perry Co
show enitafted to drive an ox team
across the irfuins to Oregon. He
took a donation land claim and In
18.13 he bought a farm near Harrls
burg, which he held until his death.
Ho lived on this place only a few
years and then returned to Browns
ville. He married Sarah E. Cochran In
IS.'ill. Ten children were born and
all except one survive.
For many years he was secretary
of tho Linn rounty Ploneera Asso
ciation and was active In buB'ness at
