was rendered unconscious by
the fall. Mrs. Anderson was
very severely bruised and the
buggy was demolished. The
women were picked up and Dr.

them. It is thought that both
of the sufferers will recover.

WASHINGTON, Dee. 22. Pros
pects for final action on the currency
bill this evening are dark. The Re
publican members of the Senate are
expected to block immediate action
by objecting to a suspension of the
rules, which requires that conference
reports muBt lie over one day before
they are called up. The formal re
port of the conferees Is expected to i
reach both houses late today.
The indications early today were J
that the currency bill would pass both ;
houses of Congress and be signed by
the President .before night. The;
House Is not expected to oppose the
joint conference committees' coin-j
promise measure. The bill will be;
given right of way in botli houses,
and their adjournment will follow usi
soon as the President signs it. Some
opposition Is expected in the Senate
to the agreement of the conferees to
strike from the bill the Senate pro
vision for an Insurance fund to guar
antee deposits in National banks. The
Republican conferees were called Into
the joint conference committee meet
ing over the currency bill. They
claimed It was the first time tliey
had been asked to take any part In
framing the conference bill, and were
extremely bitter on that account.

come from all parts of the state,
urging acceptance, Robert A. Booth,
who waa waited upon by, a delegation
of Eugene citizens and asked to be
come a candidate for the United
States '' Senatorship, tonight deter
mined to heed the request, and to
