Hotel Clarke also Is storing up all kinds of good things for their Christmas guests and the genial landlord, F. C. McGregor, is himself a guarantee of the excellence of their well filled lsrder. Mrs. J. A. Dewey, of the Dewey Hotel, Is pre paring as usual a line home dinner for her old patrons, and Incidentally a good share for those who may elect to be ner cnristmas guests. And no doubt there will be a great number of them. A glimpse of Fairyland. We stepped Into tbe Glendale Phar macy and was surprised at the beau tiful display of holiday goods. We noted, with a regretful sigh for the long ago, the many beautiful articles for the little folks, and as we gazed about us we saw beautiful articles for all ages, and all so artistically arranged. W. Splker, they are enlarg ing and extending their business. Beautiful weather prevails. We have seen an occasional fall of tiny snow flakes that so far have been succeeded by warm sunshine. Our people are prospering and are healthy and happy, and we are sure Glendale Is on the map. Geo. Hobbs, of Eastern Oregon, ar rived last Saturday for a week's visit with his parents, brother and sisters, and old friends. George is a product of Cow Creek Valley, and he has suc ceeded nicely In the Bend country. Yet he speaks in glowing terms of the future for this valley. George Is always a welcome visitor In this locality. Mr. and Mrs. B. O. McKlnley, of Lebanon, are spending the winter in this city, occupying the property they bought two years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flint and children, of Dunsmuir, will arrive to morrow evening to spend Christinas with relatives In this city. They will go on to Portland before returning to their home. Mrs. Mamie Clements, daughter and son, are visiting at the home of the former's parents. Mr. mid Mrs. Dick Miller, In this city. Their home Is at Eureka, Cal. Wm. Splker, who spent some months In the coast counties, is home for the holidays. Miss Mabel Martin is vIhUIiir her parents. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Murtln, over the holidays. Mrs. A. Branham, who was called to Corning, Cal., on account of the illness and death of her son, J. W. Branham, returned home this week. Her son left a wife and three child ren. Glendale has had an unusual In flux of wayfarers for about a month. They seem to be migrating within the past two days. Wm. Rcsgon, Dick Miller and sev eral other employes of the Victory mine, came up on Monday. They were all enjoying their pay-day. Dick Miller is superintendent of the mine. Turkeys are scarce In our market, and those in evidence are soaring aloft In prices. Also roosting high. Of course our people do not disturb their slumbers. Ashland Record: The rumor of ad ditional railroad facilities In the Ash land yards still persists and today it was reported that Foreman Wiley's crew of railroad carpenters had been ordered to Ashland to get things ready for ten more stalls to the ten stall roundhouse, now overcrowded.
