Charles Frederic Thrasher, aged

passed to his reward from his par
ents home near Scottsburg, May 5,
19i:t. He was norn on Hutter Creek
in I'matilla County. The family re
moved in his early Infancy to Benton
County, where they resided until
about a year oro, when they rame to

vived by his parents, Mr. &od Mrs. B.
P. Thrasher, three brothers, Theo
dore, ot Falls City; Ralph, of Sum
mit, and Joe of Melrose, and an only
sister, who is at home, Miss Witinl
fred. A host of friends ulso mourn
the demise of this young man. A
brother and sister preceded him
to tlie great unknown lu their in
fancy. For the last seven. ears "Fred"
had been in failing health. During
the last three years of hit decline In
health, he failed rapidly, though be
was confined to bis bed for only
about one week before bis untimely
transition. Throughout his life be
exhibited a cheerful disposition and
a happy mood, always delighting In
sacred music and often singing mer
rily as he went about. The song,
"lie Hidetb My Soul." seemed to give
a peculiar newness of spiritual life,
while his physical being steadily
