BETTER DISTRIBUTION OF FISH, BIRDS AND GAME. ' Six Carloads of Yonng Fish Already Requested tor Restocking Ikxigla County Streams. j It may be interesting to know that the Douglas County Game Protective Association Is Intended to be tne central organization of a great many auxiliary organizations throughout the county. A resolution was unani mously adopted at the meeting held last Saturday, requesting the State (lame Commission to appoint T. A. RuBety, who Is the local secretary, as county organizer. There are many localities throughout the county that are anxious for something to be done In the protection and propagation of our game nniniHla. birds and fish. It was thought at this meeting mat hy putting Mr. Rftffety in the field, 10 or 12 organizations could be formed within 60 days. The object of these organizations is not merely to assist the commis sion In the protection of our game, but they are primarily for the pur pose of creating an interest in the matter of restocking our streams with fish and our forests with birds and nnimals. The constitution of this association provides that the secretaries of all auxiliary organizations throughout the county shall constitute the di rectors in the county organization. Therefore every portion of the coun ty will be represented at a directors' meeting, at which time It can be as certained what streams and forests need replanting. The game department is sending out. through their game wardens all over the state, birds of various kinds, asking that they he given rare and protection. So far their distrihntion has not been equalized. The same may he said of the distrihntion of fish for planting purposes. With this organization these matters can be adjusted intelligently and distri bution equitably nuule. A commit tee was nppointed at this meeting for the purpose of mnking applica tion to the game commission for one carload of boss and five carloads of trout to plant In the streams of Douglas County, llefore these fish are delivered there will have been a directors' meeting, at which time an equal distribution can he made.
