and a considerable part of this Is
spent In newspaper and magazine ad
vertlslng. The Portland Commercial
Club Is a member of the Oregon lie

burg Commercial Club, and very
courteously passes on the names of
inquirers to the various clubs of the
stale. The Southern Pacific Kail
road Company is carrying a large
Hue of advertising at all times, and
each month there conies from the
Southern Pacific offices a list of
names showing who has made inquiry
relative to locations along the line
of the Southern Pacific, in addition
