the general land forfeiture ujlt
against tho Oregon & California Rail
road and Its successors. There are

Ily an act of Congress, passed Au
gust 20, 1912, the Attorney-General
was directed to make an examination
aa to how purchasers of land from
the railroad company, In amounts of
1000 acres and over and which were
Included In the original grant, had
secured these lands and If In his
judgment It was determined that the
claimants were free from fraud and
collusion he should so find and then
the lands could be sold to the claim
ants at the rate of $2. B0 per acre.
The remainder of the 4 ft "Innocent
purchaser" claimants are preparing
to submit evidence aa to their non
fraudulent ownership and this testi
mony will be heard before a special
examiner during the coming summer.
Tho decrees are that the lands.

to the Government with a perfect
title In them, but that the alleged
owners can secure a patent to them
by paying to the Government $2.,ri0
per acre within six months after the

fect title, equal to a patent, will auto
matically be created after August 20,
