Mrs. Marvin Uur ley Is prostrated today by events sub sequent to her accidental burning of the Holy Scriptures in her kitcheu stove. After cleaning the house of an aged man who died several days ago. Mrs. Hurley carried to her home among other books several paper bound copies of the Old Testament. While preparing breakfast she threw into the firebox of her stove two of theso books. Site discovered too late that they were copies of the holy word. On tho top of the stove were three pleceB of browning toast. When theso were removed each bore In perfect Hue and proportion a distinct cross. Mrs. Hurley became hysterical. Scores of persons examined the toast today and none were able to ofTer an explanation. Tho bread was far removed from the firebox of the stove, and was not touched during the toasting operation.
