Mayor Wilcox ac cordingly IsKited a proclamation de claring the result and ordering the saloons closed. The saloonnien fused to obey the order and continued to do business as usual. Mayor Wil cox then advised with Attorney-Gen eral Crawford, who says that the method used to call the local option election was Irregular and that the result Is null ami void. Mrs Fred Davis, who attempted suicide here threo weeks ago, died yesterday from the effects of the poison Bhe took at that time. Mrs. Davis, whose affections are said to have been alienated, became desperately In love with a married man of this city. Her lovo for the man came to the ears of his wife Ihroiigli friends of the family. Mrs. Davis, was telephoned for to seitle the dispute, which took place In the street. On the way lo the meeting place she took a dose of poison, and by the time she reached the mini and wife and bis friends, Mrs. Davis went into convulsions and was carried to the home of one of the parties to tile controversy.
