Frank Hickey, confessed boy mur derer, will be arraigned for killing Joseph Josephs, the seven-year-old Luckawanna boy, on October 12, liUl. Mickey Ikib entered a formal plea of not guilty, and the court has had difficulty in getting a lawyer to take his case since he had no funds to employ a counsel. First Hickey confessed to the mur der of the Josephs boy and another child In New York several years ago, then he repudiated his confession. Several murders are attributed to him, and it is believed that he is in sane, though lie declares that he Is not. He was once a prosperous busi ness man, but drugs are said to have caused his downfall. One Mini, Two Personalities. Hickey t a man of middle age, of good address and from his appear ance nobody would suspect him of being a man of abnormal or criminal character. He received a cood edu cation, became a pharmact and then an expert chemist and fined various responsible positions to the satisfac tion of his employers. Joseph Josephs was the sou of a merchant of Luckawanna and after his disappearance his father, believ ing that the boy had been kidnapped, instituted a country-wide search. The boy's dismembered and decomposed J body was not round until niter me police of Luckawanna had received a postal card from Hickey, mailed from Iloston, and Informing them that the writer had strangled the boy and thrown his dismembered body into a cesspool back of a saloon In Luckawanna. It was his mania for writing postal cards to the police authorities of dif ferent cities, confessing crimes and giving information as to whore the bodies of the victims would be found, which led to the capture of Hickey.
