SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 11. A
special train of 75 double-deck cars
loaded with lluick automobiles, the
largest single shipment ever made tg
any three stutos and larger by 25
cars than a similar shipment made
last January, left Flint, .Michigan,
this week for the Pacific Coast. This
special train consists of 375 automo
biles, valued at $482,400.
It is the largest shipment of auto
mobiles ever made under one bill of
lading nnd they nre due to arrive
about ChrlBtmns day. The shipment
Is routed via the Rock Island, Union
Pnciric and Southern Pacific. .
The train will run-through thickly
populated perilous of the country by
daylight. This shipment will greatly
advertise the prosperity of the Pacific
Coast states and without doubt those
people In the East who view this
train will be Impressed wllh the fact
that there la wealth In the West.
This shipment Is in addition to the
150 automobiles that the lluick fac
tory ships to this coast every week.
Upon the arrival of Iho train, the
Howard Automobile Company will
take out a policy of insurance on
these machines approximating 7 0
per cent of their value and immedi
ately 375 new license numherB will
have to be issued for them, for prac
tically all of these machines have al
ready been sold. The freight on this
shipment will approximate $32,000.
