All taxes shall be uniform upon

levying the lax.
The Legislative Assembly shall not
declare an enierf.'cncy In any act reg
llluting taxallon or exemption.
The premium list of the second an
nual show of the Douglas County
Poultry Association, to be held in
Uoseburg JJec. 9-14, Is now ready for
mailing. This year'B show promises
to be an exceptional one, judging
from the Inriuirles from Intending
exhihltorn being received dully by
the secretary, K. 14. Wlmberly.
Not only will there be a long list
of cash prizes In the different clauses
to be contested for but also a num
ber of valuable cups and trophies
offered by various flrntB of the city.
Another feature of the show will be
the famous llarred Itock hen of the
Pacific Coast, owned by Jesse II.
Morris, of this city. This hen hai
laid to date by actual count 270
eges In a little over ten months and
bldB fair to lay over 800 before
the termination of the year.
The association has been fortunate
In securing the services of two of the
leading Judges In the country In their
respective classes, CI. O. Wherry
Idaho, and T. A. Hnffety, now of this
city, but formerly of Kansas.
